(Thank you to Allen & Unwin for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Source: Received from the publisher for review purposes I can’t wait to read the next great adventure from Amie and Meagan. However, I really enjoyed finding out more about the Undying and their civilization, the always awkward and adorable blossoming of a new couple with Jules and Mia and the whole race against the clock plot they were up against. In this book, it became more of a struggle dealing with the human mega-corporation on Earth intent on their own personal gain and has literally come more back down to Earth. Overall, this book didn’t have the same thrills that the first novel had because in Unearthed they were on a different planet, struggling to survive and fighting their way through tombs with death at every corner and with Undying they’ve made it back to Earth and the dynamic has changed up. I absolutely loved the way this book started off where instead of the usual catch-up in the first chapter like a “previously on…” intro the writing duo instead opted to write a letter to the readers personally to summarise what happened in Unearthed so you could remember all the moments you often forget in the time waiting between two books and launch into the new one. I thought it was really handy and much more personal to have that from Amie and Meagan and I wish all books did that because it was so nice!

However, I personally still think it’s better to always leave your readers with something unanswered or room for the imagination to encourage the reader to fill in their own blanks. I finally read Undying, the awesome sequel to Unearthed, and now it’s done and I’m not sure how to feel now that it’s over! I do really love standalone books or duologies because trilogies can so often fall into a slump, especially in the middle book, but then you’re always left wanting more story when you have fewer books. From the mountains of Spain to the streets of Prague, the sequel to Unearthed is a white-knuckle ride that will send readers hurtling back to earth, and leave them breathless until the last page.

Trapped aboard the Undying’s ancient spaceship and reeling from what they’ve learned there, scavenger Mia and academic Jules are plunged into a desperate race to warn their home planet of the danger humanity’s greed has unleashed.
